Indirectly from the horse's mouth, I was told this remarkably uneducated
comment made by a Charlotte, NC vet to a client:
 
"No, I do not issue rabies tags for ferrets because they are hybrid
animals."
 
Excuse me?  Wrong answer.
 
Please join a ferret club and/or sponsor a ferret shelter.  Funds are
required to photocopy and mail out ferret facts to uneducated vets and the
like.  Together we can make a difference for our furballs, alone it becomes
a financial burden and downfall to the one's not sitting on the fence post.
