One of our Rescue's goals is to try to get more of our sponsor-a-ferrets
sponsored, but it kind of helps if folks know who those ferrets are, and
a little something about them. Their photos are in

www.weloveferrets.com, but not the latest, up-to-date info...however,
here IS the latest, up-to-date on several of them!

Appalonia Kissyface:
now 4 years old, beginning to show signs of adrenal disease, "Appy" she
gives kissies and then lip-nips to humans, but fiercely attacks all other
ferrets who aren't her own cage-mate, Maggie Mae Moxie, and sometimes
becomes yet more aggressive to other animals and then goes after the
cats, too!
............................................

BabyDoll Babushka:
6, going on 7 this year, this gentle little old lady has been battling
with hypoglycemia and has tumors in her lower abdomen, (inoperable
because of the diabetic condition.) which is being treated with
medications and feedings around the clock. She currently is on pediatric
prednisone three times a day and diazoxide twice a day with her
doll's-bottle feedings every four hours to prevent her from going
into a low blood-sugar coma.
.......................................

Cecelia Cinnamon:
etimated 6 to 7 years old, her coat was such a bright cinnamon color, as
you can see from her picture, but recently has lost almost all of it, and
has just had a Lupron shot for adrenal symptoms which is a double-punch
against this frail little ferret (too frail and weak for surgery!) as she
has been battling chronic anemia over the last two years. She is also
doll's-bottle-fed her special herb-and-iron-laced chicken gravy every
four to five hours around the clock by her care-person. Her cage-mate,
Lady CokeLeSweet , also helps care for Cecelia Cinnamon and wraps little
C.C. with her own thick-furred body to help keep her warm.
.........................................

Farley The Mouser:
Turned in at both their retirements by his former owner when he was five,
two years ago, and she was turning herself "in" to an Assisted Living
Facility, the Rescue is now Farley The Mouser's "version" of Assisted
Living. Farley actually is the only ferret out of hundreds we have seen
who has ever been reported having killed mice (he used to bring them to
his Mistress...like a cat! :) Now, Old Farley the Mouser is the "Night
Patroller" of the main ferret play-room, at almost 6 pounds, and 13
inches long, (not including his tail !), he's physically the biggest
ferret at the "old-folks'" branch of this ferret Rescue, and his front
canines are almost a full inch long. So he makes a great retired night
watch-ferret!,(but needs extra, shortened step-ups to help him climb with
his aging stiffness.) ....................

more! , Susie Lee, chief cook and bottle washer to 37 ferret-folks
