L., A choice has been made concerning all the elements and the vets felt
that the medical approach makes the most sense, if I read you correctly.
You shouldn't get flammed for that. BTW, you might also want to keep in
mind that at some point the ferret might find Diazoxide useful. (We get it
fixed with flavor like liver at a compounding pharmacy.) What people object
to is when a ferret doesn't have all the approaches counter-indicated for
health reasons and yet the people still don't treat in any fashion at all;
i.e., some people don't do ANYTHING and that is what upsets folks. That's
a far cry from the logical avenue of comparing approaches and taking the
one best suited to the individual ferret. Oh, Diazoxide is more expensive
that Pred so you might want to put away a bit of savings toward when that
is discussed; it's certainly affordable, though. As we all know, taking
responsibility for these little guys means budgeting one's time and cash
around them, too. They are worth each minute and every penny.

Remember that meat, or meat and fat do NOT constitute a balanced diet for
ferrets. The Chicken Gravy uses many other parts of the chicken as well
to get a nutrient balance. Meat alone should be no more than a treat,
not a primary source of nutrition.

Kim, ah, the joys of being a woman in a profession where men don't want
you. At least things have actually improved since the 70s (though some
find that objectionable and want to take us back to the dark ages as their
past statements and past actions/voting records show). Best of luck to
you and to the little furry one for whom you were caring.

Shaina, YOU are their best toy. Keep you room well ferret-proofed so that
they don't hurt themselves and provide long playtimes with you every day
rather than once a week. It's like having a kid. You can't shut the child
away and play on rare occasion, or something big time will go wrong.

Thank, Bill, for your explanation. As well as being always respectful
toward the privacy of others you've got a pile of common sense.

Another problem is that some of the in-house generators can create too much
ozone, an unhealthy situation. Might smell fresh, but... Ozone is great
very high up where it's useful as a sheild but low down it's dangerous.
