You say the glucose is normal, what are the values?  Are you have blood
drawn after a 4 or 5 hr fast, or soon after he has eaten?
 
You may want to try a glucose/insulin ratio - this is a test that will most
likely have to be sent out to a private lab and is more accurate in
diagnosing insulinoma for those ferrets who have symptoms but a seemingly
normal glucose.  Fasting prior to blood drawing is required for this test to
give the most accurate info.
 
I'm not saying it is insulinoma, but this test has helped sometimes when
other tests haven't.
