This isn't exactly ferret related, but since alot of people here are
creating web-sites, and the topic has come up in regards to Joe's web page,
I'll take the chance and post this.

BIG is correct. Even if you give credit for an image or piece of art that
you have taken to use on your web page, you MUST get permission from the
original artist/photographer/web-page-owner. Written permission is best,
of course. Send the artist/photographer/web-page-owner an email requesting
use. Keep their reply. This is for your own protection. If you do not
have this permission, you are in violation of copyright and can be charged.
You can also loose your internet account if/when the
artist/photographer/web-page-owner complains to your ISP. This HAS
happened.

My husband and 2 other housemates are all artists. Many, many of our
friends are artists. They all occasionally post their art to their web
pages. Most have had to deal with art theft via the Web. We have, by
necessity, become very familiar with copyright law. If anyone is
interested, write to me and I can send you the address for a very good
web page explaining copyright in easily understood language.

Take care all, and remember the old adage: Better safe than sorry.
