Dear knowledgeable ferret people,
Yesterday morning there was a fire at the University of Missouri in which
one of my friends died. My ferret, Willis, was at the time living down the
hall. Despite much effort the rescuers were not able to get him out until
later in the day. He was in his cage on the floor. The whole room,
including poor Will, was covered in soot. He's home now and clean and
happy and is not showing any signs of respiratory affliction or discomfort.

If anyone has had experience with similar matters and knows of anything I
can do or any precautions I can take, please let me know.

Emily and poor Willis
