My ferret was diagnosed with an ulcer last night by a barium swallow
followed by x-rays. He had tenderness in his abdomen and was lethargic.
He was also rubbing his face/body on the carpet after eating. He was still
eating and drinking normally. Does anyone know why ulcers occur in
ferrets? He is being treated with amoxi-drops. Is this just a temporary
cure or will it completely "heal" the ulcer? Should I change his diet in
anyway? I'm guessing by the reaction from my vet that ulcers in ferrets
aren't like ulcers in humans. Any comments are appreciated. Thanks!
