It is very late, the ladies should be curled up in their pile of
crocheted blankies and fleece bags. But they really, really wanted
to read the latest installment of "The Ghost of Krackin' McFerret".

Imagine our scene in the theater of your mind. Two lady ferrets in the
darkened computer room, illuminated only by monitor glow. They scurry
back and forth on the desk before the monitor, occasionally pressing a
small pink nose to the keyboard, or manipulating the mouse with two soft
paws.

Switch: "Isabeau decides it is time to invoke...invoke..."

Lily: "Hee-he. He."

Switch: "oh, call...why didn't they just say so?" "O.K. INVOKE the
somewhat wrathful bog creature known as 'The Sukie.' "

Lily: (She begins to bounce in place like a ferret on a pogo stick)
"HHHEEEEE! Heeee! Hee-hee-HHHEEEE!!"

Switch: "Lily! Chill out! The Crandall can't hurt you, it's only a
story!"

Lily leaps from the computer desk and into the armchair. From there she
throws herself onto the floor and gallops for all that she is worth.
She does fine until she hits the linoleum in the hall. She scrambles
in place for a bit until she gets her traction back, and finally dives
beneath the kitchen counter.

Switch: (Hissing) Lily! Come out of there!

Lily: (A snout emerges from beneath the protection of the counter for an
instant, then retreats.)

Switch: (Sighing heavily.) "I guess it's CHICKEN gravy for you!" (She
begins to make little bucking and clucking noises.)

Lily: (Two angry little eyes glare like flaring match heads from beneath
the counter. She utters one dismissive "Hee", then disappears back into
the darkness.)

(I ain't afraid of no Crandall!)
