We usually use Fludrocort crushed and given in Ferretone or Vivify
along with Prednisolone when this happens, but some prefer Percorten
injections about every 20 days with daily Prednisolone.

http://www.miamiferret.org/addisons.htm

Addisons may not show up immediately but then the ferret will begin to
have problems days later and if not treated rapidly WILL die. It is a
fatal problem, but a ferret can go from actively dying to being normal
within hours if treated in time.

Some require a tiny bit of salt along with the diet till they have been
stabilized.
