I have several ferrets who chew on cloth.  They don't eat it, just chaw
away on it.  They seem to prefer heavy cloth such as denim, and denim belt
loops and seams are the preferred chewing medium.  I have had their teeth
checked, and they are free fed, so neither of those things are to blame.
They are from a wide variety of backgrouns including a late alter boy and a
MF boy.  Who knows why they do it?  In my case, they don't eat the cloth,
so I don't discourage the practice.  If anything I think it might help keep
the teeth clean.  I no longer use hammocks with strings, as I have seen
several tumble to the floor a few times after one chewed through a string.
 
I would take your girl to the vet and have her teeth checked.  The chewers
that eat cloth seem to prefer softer varieties, you might want to invest
in some denim hammocks and sleepy sacks.  The bags that banks use for money
are great sleepies.  (Not the heavy locking variety, but the plain cloth
ones.) Be sure to "lube her up" with Laxatone to make sure she doesn't get
a blockage.
