Has anyone had a bacterial abscess develop on their ferret between the
shoulder blades where the rabies and distemper injections are given?

Our boy ferret, Link, (fixed, descented, just over 1yr old), has
developed a lump there. The vet checked it and said it's bacterial.
We did 2 weeks on amoxcillin Clavamox twice a day and the lump got
much smaller and I had though it'd gone away but once we'd stopped
the meds the lump came back. Now we are on at least another 2 weeks of
amoxcillin Clavamox twice a day and then going back for a check up.
The vet said they could go in an cut it out but really didn't want to
do that because he is so small.

Have you had to deal with this? Any other suggestions? Link REALLY
doesn't like the meds. I tried to use the ferretvite to encourage
him but that only worked for a couple days. How do you get your
ferrets to take their meds? Thanks!

Luci
