I had sent this earlier but unfortunately it was never received.

Sadly, last week we lost out dear sweet Li'l Rocky. It was totally
unexpected. He was a perfectly healthy, rambunctious 4 1/2 yrs. young
ferret, and even just had his annual check-up. We knew he was going
blind ( a bit sudden too) but other than that he was fine. Then suddenly
he was having trouble walking, even walking in circles and getting very
frustrated. I thought this was all due to his new blindness, but then he
started falling down and soon could hardly walk. He also stopped eating
unless I fed him by the fingerful. I took him to the vet and she gave
him sub-q fluids and a injection of antibiotics and a steroid injection.
Then I took him trying to get fingerfuls of baby food and water in his
mouth.

The next day my son had to have a second surgery at a trauma center (he
was jumped by 4 unknown kids and had his jaw broken in 3 places) so my
vet kept Li'l Rocky at the clinic for the day. She repeated the same
injections and hand fed him. I again took him home that nite but he
barely made the nite, even having trouble breathing. So the next morning
we helped him cross over. I cried and talked to him all the way to the
vets. I told him I loved him and he will never leave my heart. I told
him to run, not walk, to the bridge where he will be met by his buddy
Nibbles who passed over 6 weeks before. I told him he will also find his
beloved Cocogirl and Pearlgirl (who he will get to know for the first
time), and Harry Bush Dog. I promissed him Harry would not take him in
his mouth and spit him out like he did 2 yrs ago, they will probably
become good friends now. I told him just think of me and I will be
thinking of him. I told him I would never, never, have let him go but
I had no choice.

I will love that little nosey, climbing, independent little cinnamon
ferret forever.

Bridge Greters I forgot to send his blankie and favorite ferret beanie
with him so he is coming empty handed. Please give him a warm blankie
to cover himself with and a beanie if possible.
