That is so sad... That's just how Cully was when I brought him home.  It
took him months to figure out how to play with toys or with people (we're
still working on other ferrets-- I think he gets how to play, but not how to
play nice).  The toy that changed everything for him was a plastic capsule
that came inside a kinderegg (german made egg shaped candy with a nifty toy
inside the capsule); maybe it was the chocolate smell that did it, or the
way it scoots out from between his paws when he tries to grab it.  Anyway,
it's so wonderful to see them finally opening up and playing the way a happy
ferret should.  I hope Dayna's little guy gets there soon!
