I forgot a few things about the bike ferret bag I needed to add.

One thing I did was rivet d-rings to the center of each end so I can attach
a carrying strap. That way, the carrier can be detached from the bike, and
used as a ferret tote. I do this instead of leaving the ferrets on the
handlebars for even a short time. Who knows who might try to streal them or
the bike, or if the bike could fall and harm them.

Second, never leave the bag on the bike and the bike out in the sun. The
bag is cool because of air-flow. Once you stop bicycling, the bag can get
quite hot if left out in the sun, especially if it is a dark color. Park in
the shade always, and carry your ferts with you if it is warm.

Last, if you are stopped and have let your ferrets roam around on their
leash, sooner or later they will crawl over the bike. NEVER roll your bike,
backturn the crank, or generally move anything that could injure your ferret
without first checking to see if it is safe. ALWAYS LOOK! I don't want to
hear a sob story about a decapitated ferret because someone took their
ferrets out on a ride, based on my recommendations, and wasn't paying
attention and a ferret got caught in the spokes or the crank. Always,
always, always check!!! Then check again. I try not to move the bike when
the ferrets are out of the bag.

I've been taking my ferrets out biking for years without so much as a brused
foot, so I know it is safe and fun, IF you take the proper precautions.

Happy Cycling!
