Having worked at a pet store as the resident ferret person, I've been on
the receiving end of many a shipment of MF babies.  I don't know about
everyone, but the ferrets we got in from MF were shipped from somewhere
down south, not NY (which I thought was odd, since we're in ME).  The
babies were shipped in shavings, all right, but they weren't pine.  I
believe they were aspen.
 
Marshall Pet Products also puts out a recycled newspaper litter now.
There's at least a chance they use it too.
