I am saddened by what has happened to Kodo the ferret but I am not
surprised.  This whole ordeal has reminded me of how Socrates was sentenced
to death by the Athenians, eventhough he had proven during his trial that
their claims against him were baseless.  (read Plato's "Apology")
 
The following is the short note that I finally wrote today to Engler and
Fitzhugh.
