Just a note to let everyone know of a distributor of pet supplies I found.
The catalog has many items for ferrets. It also has FerretVacD for sale.
This could be help to those who have shelters or multiple fuzzies and can't
afford to go to a vet for regular vaccinations. The Company is called UPCO
and their phone number is 1-800-254-8726 or 1-800-254-UPCO. You can call
and get a catalog - it is free. The FerretVacD is for distemper and sells
for $2.25 a dose - which is quite a deal if your ferret is healthy and
doesn't need the expense of an office visit. Of course you must give the
vaccination yourself - it has directions. Or if you have a friend who is a
nurse or must use insulin. Look under the small animal section - it isn't
in the Dog Vaccine section. They also have a two story ferret home for
around $64.00 which is quite a deal. They have the two story one also by
Midwest Homes for Pets - this one is listed for cats but I have the Midwest
home for Ferrets and the only difference is the metal ladders are missing
for access to the different floors. These could be made easily. The price
for the cat home is 119.00 - I have seen the same one at the pet store
locally for 269.00 so it is quite a deal. Also is an exercise wheel that is
like the one for hamsters but ferret size. It might be fun for them to play
with - does anyone know?

My guys are getting older and are quite lazy unless they find something to
get into trouble with. Or if my oldest Scooter sees my mini-pin dog, which
weighs about 5 lbs and decides to drag her off. The dog and Scooter go
round and round and have a great time together.
