Hello I am new to the FML, but I do have to let everyone know what my
fuzzies have taught me. To begin with, when my huby and I first bought our
first ferret we didn't read, research or in my case had ever seen one
before. And to be truthful I couldn't stand Crissy at first. But my hubby
was in the navy and as all sailors do went out to see, WITHOUT I might add
even training her not to bite or be handled. So in order to feed her I had
to train her. And in the only way I knew how, like I train dogs. I was
surprised with how quickly she potty trained herself and learned voice,
click, and hand signals. and when my hubby got back ten days later he
didn't believe she was the same ferret! On the other hand this is also
because the first night he returned she was left out as I had grown
accustomed to doing she spent the whole night fighting him and biting him to
get him to quit attacking me, which (ahem) he wasn't doing. He soon
realized that she was no longer his and wanted his own. We went back to the
store and picked the fuzzy who leapt off the counter to bite my nose ( he
hung there a good two minutes) so we returned home and treated Kavik (eskimo
for Wolverine) as we would any new dog to the family. Well my hubby soon
realized he didn't have the time to train him either so I took over the
task. with the same results, I am happy to say.
