... I thought I'd put in my two bits. It seems to me that there is a grave
danger of just irittating the powers that be at the moment. If we go back
to the principles of negotiation, the aim is to find a settlement acceptable
to all parties. Right now, the Governor of Michigan (if he's the one) must
be getting pretty pissed off with all this, and I wonder if anyone is trying
to work on a way to let HIM out of this gracefuly, with Kodo intact. I
think that's the only way this is going to work out OK, because we must
remember that one simple way out for him is to kill Kodo.

Sure there'll be a bit of a backlash (I mean in the global scheme of
things), but it will pass. If that happens we will have achieved nothing.

"But at least he'll know the strength of opinion" I hear you cry.

HE ALREADY KNOWS IT! And as I said, to keep going in the same vein may
prove to be counterproductive. We must imagine that we are sitting across a
table from him, saying "Mr Governor, we know you are a reasonalbe man. What
can we do that will get Kodo back, whilst preserving and upholding the
law?". Give him a solution to his problem. Remember, he has Kodo, we
don't.

By the way, I don't condone what is happening to Kodo in the slightest.
But, if what we are doing isn't working, we MUST try something else. Doing
the same thing over and over, expecting a different result, is a sure sign
of madness.

Meanwhile good luck to you all who are fighting on the front. We all hope
and pray over here that you succeed.
