Hi everybody, I have a couple of questions.
Amelia's well down the shedding road now, and I wanted to give her
some hairball remedy to make sure things go, so to speak, smoothly.
(Also that _half_ a pencil I found under the couch made me
worry). I bought some Petromalt, but the problem is that Amelia doesn't
seem to consider it edible. Do most ferrets like this stuff? Is there
anything else they might like better? If I mix it with her food or
Linatone, will it still work?
Amelia doesn't like a lot of stuff that ferrets are supposed to go
crazy for, and she definitely wasn't interested in 8-in-1 FerretBites.
The date on the top was 94353, whatever that exactly means. I assumed
she was just being finicky, but if that date means the 353rd day of 1994
which would be December, maybe there is a problem with that batch.
Final question-- I'm looking for soft-sided animal carriers which can
act to hide a ferret as well as provide a means to carry her around
when it is no longer winter (now, she just rides in a coat sleeve or
cuddles above the jacket's waistband). I don't have Web access, so I
can't check out the photos that were mentioned there. I'm faxing the
company mentioned by Bill Williamson tonight, but would appreciate any
other information, particularly about Canadian manufacturers (things
cost umpteen billion dollars more when you change the currency and pay
duty), or about how to convert regular duffel bags. Ideally whatever
I use would have some kind of ventilation. I have checked athletic
stores, and did find one bag which would have been perfect except that
it was black, a bad idea for the summer. TIA!
Amelia goes to school with me tommorrow to meet some professors.
One of the ones who really wants to meet her is an archaeology prof,
and I dread having her in his office, which is filled with all kinds
of interesting small items (little bones, shiny stones) to filch and
hide! Definitely a harness day...

Regina (no! put back that priceless ivory figurine!)
Amelia (hey, I wonder where this airduct goes and how many holes
sharp little ferret teeth can make in ivory-- wait a minute, harness?!?)
