Subject:	Are ferrets illegal in your country?

Chris Davies, our European Member of Parliament, has recently been
informed that it is illegal to own ferrets in Portugal.  This is
inconsistent with the concept of harmonisation between Member States of
the European Union, so Chris intends to raise this issue with the
European Commission.
 
Does anyone know if there are any other countries in Europe where it is
illegal to own ferrets?
 
In the whole world, I believe that ferret ownership is illegal in New
Zealand, California, Hawaii and Portugal.  Can anyone add to this list?
