Hi Teresa;

Well, the first thing needed is food & water; Pedialyte or generic, non
flavored is a great help with the runs as it replaces electrolytes they
loose. Gerber turkey rice with some clover honey if they don't eat it
straight is a good convelessing food. You can add some Pet tinic vitamins
(from the vet or Omaha Vaccine co.), and Deliver 2.0 from the local
pharmacy. It's non Rx, but has to be ordered as no one stocks it. Shop for
price, Albertsons' here is about $23, others as high as $35/case of 12 ea.
8oz cans. It is the most complete, highest calorie liquid food available.
It is designed for tube feeding humans, but Dr. Brown in Ill. said it is
the only choice for ferrets due to caloric requirements. It tastes like a
vanilla shake, & almost all ferrets love it. When Timmy's getting skinny, I
put deliver in for maby 1/3rd of his recipe. I know of ferrets living on
Deliver by itself for a few days until they "get over" what seems to be
ailing them, then migrating back to their "normal" food.

I'll email seperately Timmy's story & recipe, his home page is:

Take care,
