Melissa,
Before you give your ferrets away, make sure it's not your cats that you are
allergic to.  I have a terrible time with my asthma around cats but not the
ferrets.  I didn't even know I was asthmatic until I had to give my cat away
and my allergies got better, just lived with bronchitis all the time until
then.  So make sure who you really are allergic to first.  We have 12
ferrets and I have no problems.  Just a thought.
