i had received some qwuestions about the precautions taken by Trish with
the items she makes for e-bay to raise money for her ADV+ shleter...

so i asked her to write me up a paper on it to give ppl with questions...
and she also gave me permission to put it on here...in case others had

Precautions taken

1- Sanitize the kitchen table the ferret's arn't allowed on (for various
and rather obvious reasons) with A 33 Dry Which is known to kill ADV
(and just about all other diseases) for up to 14 days (though I sanitize
every time)

2-Put on Clean clothing that has not been in contact with the ferrets and
spray myself down with Tek Trol (Aerosol Disenfectant that is known to
work aginst ADV) Wash my hands with bleech and rinse very very well.

3- Get out the fabric which is kept in a rubber maid container on top of
my stand up freezer, in a room the ferret's are not allowed to go.

4- Make sure that no item for any reason touches the floor while I am
sewing which is also Steam cleaned with the A33, and while I am sewing no
ferrets are loose in the house.

5- Seal the items in a large plastic ziplock bag once they are finished.

6- Upon Request I will be more than happy to send a packet of A-33 Dry
with the items which should be placed in the dryer for at least 20
minutes on high before use (this also will kill the ADV virus) and if
so desired washed with the A-33, as well before the box is sealed for
shipping I spray Tek Trol as a final precaution onto each item.

I know that my precautions can be considered a bit excessive by most
standards but I simply won't take any chances spreading this to any
ferret. I see what ADV does to them every time I enter my ferret room
and it breaks my heart.

Hope that helps clear up the questions you have been getting if people
need assurance you can always send them to talk to me. :)

Trish
