It was a cold and rainy night in October. It was there when I went to
sleep but not when I awoke. Yes, it was the case of the missing watch.
It must have fallen off (?) during the night. I frantically searched
the bedcovers and then searched the room when it struck me like a ton
of bricks, the ferrets must have stashed it with the countless socks,
shoes, toys, underwear, etc. that I've never been able to find. I knew
under intense questioning they'd break, so I grabbed the flashlight and
shined it into each ones beedy little eyes. But everyone had an alibi -
Sabie was sleeping with Poto and Abbey, Gizzie with Zipper, Coco with
Petey and Ramsey and so on.

Several weeks later after having failed to crack the case I was considering
buying a new watch. And then one evening I spotted something shiny in one
of the heater vents. As I knelt down to investigate I figured out what
happened. As one of my furry little theives carried off their shiny new
treasure, it must have slipped from their mouth and landed on the vent.
As he/she tried to retrieve the treasured gem it fell into the vent. I
can only imagine how they freted over loosing such a wonderful trinket.
Hmmm... I wonder if that is why Duff lays over the vents!

Nan - check those vents.
Hugs. tle
