To anyone using artificial light to warm your fuzzies, I have come across
some research from a reptile breeder friend of mine that says an heating
light used on small mammals decreases the Vitamin D in the body. This
is why reptile owners use the special heat lamps with UV rays for Vita D
supplements. Keep in mind I'm not an expert but I do believe my breeder
friend knows what he's talking about. I'll try to keep you updated on
what I find out. This may be the cause of fur loss, but I'm not totally
sure if Vita D contributes.
