For whatever reason, eBay's policy is to de-activate the site, but the
header will remain on the menu for the duration of time left on that
particular auction item.
 
It's not the greatest solution (which would be total removal) but it's
better than nothing.  eBay seems genuinely concerned about policy and
I've written them several times and had appreciative responses back.
 
So if anyone still wants to write about the stuffed ferret, let them
know you appreciate their prompt action in de-activating the site.
