Others have reported that only the *right* ferret comes when called and I
can say for certain that they do know some words and let that take priority
over the tone you use, thus completely misunderstanding the meaning.
 
I'd be interested in examples of ferrets understanding what strangers say.
But I doubt they'd show it often if they did.
