A veterinarian friend gave me an article that contained a negative blurb
about ferrets.  The magazine is Parenting and the issue is September
2005.  The article is titled " kids & pets a safety guide" and is written
by Laura Flynn McCarthy.
 
She comments on several different pets - from dogs to reptiles, etc.
This is the blurb about ferrets:
 
* Avoid ferrets or "wild" pets, such as raccoons, chinchillas, and
hedgehogs.  "Ferrets have been known to attack children," cautions
Beaver.
 
(Bonnie Beaver is a veterinarian and professor in the department of
small animal clinical sciences at Texas A&M University and is quoted
in an earlier paragraph.)
 
Oh brother!  WHERE do these people get their information!?
