Hello, I am posting to the FML to hopefully get some good info and tips
on dealing with a very bad case of shelter shock. We recently got a
ferret in to the shelter that I volunteer at, she is a very lovely
charming little girl with no health problems that we can see, besides
the shelter shock. She was fine for about a week or 2 after coming to
the shelter, then one day she realized that her daddy was not coming
back for her. (his life got to busy to give her the attention she
needed) About a week ago we noticed she was losing a LOT of weight she
has lost over 3.5 oz in a short amount of time. We were force feeding
her at the shelter for a few days and no good results. I have taken her
to my home where I can give her around the clock soup. I changed the
soup recipe to one that she likes fairly well, at least I don't have to
force it. And she is eating til she is full (I can tell by feeling her
belly) I am not sure if she is eating hard kibble yet. I have Totally
Ferret ASP, TF Baby, and EVO in separate dishes in her cage, and a
small bowl of TF Dooker Delights, she seems to eat those every once in
a while. I have been giving her lots of attention to try to make her
feel better. Her will to live is slowly coming back.

Hopefully some of you out there have some really good advice to share,
It would help a lot!!! I have only had about 8 to 10 hours sleep the
past 2 nights.

Thanks for your time and help. Tepney needs all the help she can get.
