I haven't posted on this site yet, but thought I would reply to Lisa's
post on opening cages. I have a two+ year old male ferret (spaz) who
opens his own cage. I have to tie it shut at night so he doesn't get
stepped on. A boss of my husband's found Spaz in the woods and we took
him in (about 1 1/2 years ago). He was never claimed through our paper
ad and I am very happy he wasn't. He is a great ferret. So, who knows
what he went through in the woods, but yes cage opening is possible-even
when the latch looks/feels sturdy.
