A friend of mine once saw a shipping crate of ferrets at the airport and
said there was an adult ferret in it with the babies. Could this adult have
been a "baby sitter"? How are ferrets shipped and distributed?

When we purchased Fannie in December 1996, Path Valley provided a
serial-numbered certificate of guarantee that she was neutered and
de-scented. When I wrote Path Valley for advice on how to stop Fannie
from trying to nurse on Farrah's ears, they sent me a brochure on cleaning
ferrets ears. (I had also praised them for Fannie's wonderful personality.)
Would it be worth while to ask for advice on Fannie's deafness?

Some good news on a pet store: When we bought Fannie, Fish and Critters pet
store in Oaks Mall, Gainesville FL, provided a two-sided page of ferret-care
information and a page of medical information. The medical page, written by
Marshall Farms, described the neutering, spaying, and descenting process of
weaned kits at approximately 6 weeks old and also recommended appropriate
vaccinations. Do all pet stores provide this type of written information to
new ferret owners? Is Marshall Farms still waiting approximately 6 weeks to
operate?
