Hi all, Sorry for the off topic post but I need someone with this
condition to email me privately. Please see the note below:

************************************************************************
iridio-corneal syndrome, commonly referred to as the ICE syndrome. A
couple of patients here tonight have the ICE syndrome. What causes it?

The ICE syndrome is caused by the diseased lining of the cornea, which
grows over the drain in the eye, blocking it, and over the iris, causing
stretching and a lack of blood supply.

(ICE syndrome is actually a grouping of three closely linked conditions:
iris nevus (or Cogan-Reese) syndrome; Chandler's syndrome; and essential
(progressive) iris atrophy, which accounts for the acronym ICE.)

************************************************************************
Preliminary tests seem to indicate that I have this condition in my left
eye. It affects more women than men, usually in one eye and strikes
in middle age. That would be me. :O) It causes the pupil to stretch
upward, out of shape. My vision is blurred and sort of like I'm looking
through a finger smear on glasses. This has been going on for some time
now but getting worse. There is no cure and Doc says I will have to
learn to live with it. The other scary bit in this story is that about
50% of folks with ICE have/develop glaucoma in the affected eye.

Doc is out of town next week and he wants me back in the office the next
week. He will dilate my eye, re-check my pressure (no pressure when I
had my exam in April), and a few other tests. He wants me to bring in
photographs that show my face/eyes up-close from birth onward.

So, I'm a "bit" unnerved. Doc said that glaucoma is easy to manage and
not like is was in the "old days". Macular Degeneration is rampant n my
family. There was no evidence of this disease (or ICE) in April.

I'm asking you to pray for wisdom for the doctor(s) and me in making
choices.

Thanks! :O)
