My black sable Martin, when I first got him, had a black stripe down his
face.  I got him in August '97, and by Nov/Dec '97 the black stripe had
disappeared.  He also gained weight at this time.  Now he looks like he's
slimming down (a tad, not a lot) and...his black stripe is coming back.
