Ferrets chip their teeth all the time. As long as it does not wiggle, turn
black, or cause swelling inthe mouth, more than likely it is normal and fine.

As to yellowing, The older ferrets get, the yellower their teeth become.
also, if they have long canines (vampire fangs) then they will yellow
quicker than ferrets with shorter canines.

White teeth - 1-2 years
Clear/translucent tips on canines - 2-3 years
Yellowing near gum line on canines - 3-4 years
Tooth turning translucent and "bulging" at gum line - 4-5 years
Canines turned solid yellow/tranlucent - 5-6 years
Canines turning dark - 6+

Just an average. We see so many ferrets that we usually can get within 6
months of age in guessing now!
