First of all, best wishes for your upcoming surgery Lisette. Heal fast!
Now on to your comment - I totally and completely agree. I tell the
kids at school when they say they want a ferret, "does your mom mind
if her house is messy" then I go on from there. I have lost sofas, box
springs, carpet, kitchen cabinets, pergo flooring, shoes, clothes, etc
from the depradation of these little guys. I have lost friends (love me
love my ferrets) and alienated family members, vacations are brief at
best. Would I do it again, YOU BET! To me ferrets are marvelous, crazy,
unpredictable and deeply loving little creatures. I've had them for 20
years. Are they for everybody, No, absolutely not. People do need to be
educated. I'm so tired of hearing people say, "I did have a ferret but
it was too much trouble, or it bit me, or it wouldn't use the litter
box" Research and find this out ahead of time. I just had to let you
know how much I agreed with your statement and I too let people know
that they do not make good pets for a lot of people.
