Hello,

Please, do NOT send any money to this shelter. This so called shelter has
already been visited by the Humane Society and the local tv station because
of horrid conditions of the animals. The cages are piled high with poop,
the house reeks of ammonia, and the ferrets get very little care, to the
point where one ferret has already died from an upper respiratory
infection, which most likely would have been cleared up with antibiotics.
I was there once personally, about a year ago, and have seen recent photos
and heard first hand accounts from other visitors that have been there
recently. I would not support the shelter back then, because of the
conditions I witnessed, and I still will not, from what I hear currently.
I believe the owner cares about the ferrets emotionally, but he is not able
to meet their basic needs when it comes to clean cages and available food
and water. At one time, I have to believe that the ferrets were well taken
care of, but the owner has had personal and health problems in the last few
years, and the ferrets have suffered the consequences. I believe that if
the owner is unable to take basic care of the ferrets, he has absolutely no
business trying to run a shelter, and letting 19 ferrets suffer. However,
if someone would like to volunteer their time to go in and help take care
of the ferrets, that would be fantastic, for the ferrret's sake.
