We have a male ferret under a year, he weighs 4 lbs, and is a fat waddly
thing, and he loves to sleep on his back, with all legs spread out, makes it
easy for me to rub his tummy, our 3 other ferrets sleep all curled up,
possibably maybe there isn't enough room for them to sprawl out cause of
Bear hogging the room.

The first time I saw him sleep that way, I got nervous, but he was in a deep
state of sleep, and I could pick him up and be totally limp, but then
awakened and was normal in every way. Sometimes, i find him down on the
lower floor next to the food, sleeping there as well, waiting to get a jump
on more food when its time to eat? LOL

I met someone in the Christian Chat room and he is from Canada, and owns a
ferret, female, we talked about our little fuzzies and he stated that his
ferret is 3 years old and weighs only 1 lb. I doubled checked his
statement, and said Oh no, surly she weighs more, my female is very light,
but I weighed her and she weighs 2 lbs, and he said no, been weighed at the
vets and weighs just over a pound. I asked what he feeds her and he said, a
very expensive cat food. I talked to him about protein levels and fish
verses animal. He claimed that he has a friend that raises ferrets and gets
his info from them and his ferret was just fine. I wasnt implying that he
was doing anything wrong, just discussing the food and sharing information.
My question, is it normal for a ferrets weight to be at a pound, I left the
conversation with, "Well she's just a peanut." :)

BTW, I am getting more people interested in the FML from talking to them in
the chat rooms, and I forward copies of it to them to read, and let them
subscribe, and they love the FML. and thank me when they see me again for
sending them the fml to read and join
