The first thing you will want to do is have a vet take a look at that
tooth.  If enough of the tooth broke to expose the root, it will
eventually die, get infected, and cause all kinds of problems.
 
I just went through this with one of my cats.  She chipped a canine
some time ago.  Six months ago the vet did a cleaning and just decided
to watch the tooth.  By last month it was already infected and had to
come out.
 
Since the break is fresh, I imagine your vet may be able to do a crown
to protect the tooth.  He or she can probably at least smooth out the
rough edges of the tooth for you.
