Hi Jenn,

It was me, that mentioned the 'Natures Logic' food. I have been feeding
it to my 5 for over 6 months now. And everybody is doing really well.
They also eat chicken, eggs, chicken hearts and gizzards. And 3 of them
do eat mice and chicks. But the 'Natures Logic' is their main food.
Th only thing I was worried about at first was the fiber percentage.
It is 6.0%. But everybody is 'pooping' just fine. No smell or mass
quantities! I read on another list, somebody wrote to all the 'ferret
food' companies, and asked what they based their 100% nutritional
requirements for ferrets, in their food on. Would you believe not one
company answered her back. Hmmmm.

Did they send a pamphlet with the samples? If not, the web site under
FAQ's explains their food quite well. The most interesting ingredient
in their food is the 'animal plasma'...would you believe its animal
blood. The life source of all living animals. Also the fruits and
vegetables are the natural sources for the vitamins. (they are
powdered, no chunks) While the montmorillonite, egg shell, kelp,
animal plasma, ext. Are the natural mineral sources. It is the first
commercially prepared 100% natural food line that contains no added
chemically synthesized supplemental nutrient in any product. (To the
raw people...you don't put a vitamin pill inside your ferrets mice!
Right? And for humans..you might want to question and be more aware
of the source of your own vitamin pills, many of them are also
manufactured from coal tar and other co-products of industrial metal
products) I would rather give my guys food with REAL kelp (iodine
source) in it...and not 'ethylenediamine dihydriodide'. Heck...I can't
even pronounce that! Believe me IF my guys were "off" and not doing
well, I would stop feeding this food. All three of my dogs eat it too.
Not every animal is the same, just like people. So something that works
for one, might not work for another. But, like I said, I have been very
happy with this food so far.

P.S. I also had sent an apology to the list, twice!( Once it came back,
second time it never showed up.) About ferrets and heartworm. I had
said I had never heard of it happening in a ferret. (Knock on wood,
in the 30 years of owning ferrets, I have never had it.) I should have
searched the FML archives, before posting that. There is mention of
quite a few poor little guys getting it...and dying. I try to do
everything right for my guys. From filtered water to good food, no
stress, lots of 'dark places', ect. I do 'wrestle with myself' alot,
over everything, from insect control to vaccines...another scary thing
to me. I know they took the mercury out of IMRAB 3, but is it still in
the distemper vaccines? I'm going to ask my vet..my guys need shots,
before the 'Buckeye Bash'!!!

[Moderator's note: Your apology post was never received here, but I'm
pleased it made it through piggy-backed on your post today :-) BIG]
