MAINE (W. Kennebunk)-- there are 4 ferrets up for adoption at the W.
Kennebunk Animal Welfare Society where my daughter and I volunteer. Two
sables, one silver (?) and a female albino who is very ill with...???? I
am thinking possibly cardiomyopathy or lymphoma. :-( The ferrets are all
cage-mates and are there to due to their humans getting a divorce.

My daughter and I let them loose in the big room, got down on the floor
with them and played with them for about an hour. All of the ferrets
were very friendly, active, and playful (even the sick one). There is
absolutely NO WAY that I can take these darlings in. I am at my limit with
5 ferrets, 5 cats, 3 foster kittens from the shelter, 1 guinea pig, 3 human
kids, 1 husband (and a partridge in a pear tree!)

Not everyone at the shelter is ferret-knowlegeable. Someone had filled
their litter box with cedar chips *gasp* which I promptly removed. I wrote
a HUGE note in red ink to please use cat litter instead of cedar.. blah,
blah, blah. I am concerned that these guys won't get the proper care they
need while waiting for a new home.

If there is anyone out there that can help these darlings, you may reach
the W. Kennebunk Animal Welfare Society at: (207) 985-3244 or their e-mail
at: [log in to unmask]

Thanks!
Renee
