Close call. My Buddy started coughing/choking during the middle of the
night. I though it was just a cold and got up to wipe his little nose,
but it wasn't a cold. So I rushed him off to my vet first thing in the
morning. They did x-rays and even an ultrasound, but couldn't figure
out what was going on. Extreme abdominal tenderness. They ended up
doing emergency exploratory surgery, thinking we were going to find an
intestinal blockage. Turns out he has pancreatitis and he is spending
the weekend at the hospital just to make sure he recovers okay. He's on
IV meds during the day. I saw him today, he looks good, but he wore down
very quickly. Anyone have experience with this? What can you tell me?

Please e-mail me privately if you can. Thanks in advance.

Holly
