I read today that one of the candidates in the CA free-for-all recall
election is Michael Wozniak, a retired police officer, who wants to make
ferrets legal in CA. Some info:

From the site
http://abcnews.go.com/sections/GMA/Politics/california030803_candidates.html:
Michael Wozniak, a retired Oakland police officer, is also running for
governor and also has a Web site, vote4woz.com. He says he doesn't
understand why politicians in Sacramento can't balance a budget as he
and other Californians do. Plus he has a pet issue. "It would be nice
to have the domestic ferret legal in California," he says.

Also, he is apparently a member of CDFA: http://michael.wozniak.com/.
He has another site: http://www.Vote4Woz.com
