It doesn't get worse than this.
 
As the reader may have seen from an earlier post Bandit declined over the
weekend, and became lethargic.
 
Bandit is in pain.
 
The vet felt strongly that a object was involved, felt close to Bandit's
sternum.  So a surgery was done promptly.  The object the doctor felt was
his spleen.  The description of the organ is "not the usual purplish color,
it was mottled."
 
But Bandit is closed up now and the spleen is still in place.  I would have
thought excision would be the natural choice.
 
Is there a medical option at this point?  Is a second surgery even
thinkable?
 
Poor Bandit... now I attempt to keep him alive with water, Baytril, and
Duck Soup & chelated Vitamin C.
 
What would be better for him?
