I got back from a three week trip to India about a week ago and since
then have been trying in vain to find out what kind of weasel or
squirrel I saw on one of our outings??? We were sitting in a road side
rest area having a cold drink when all of a sudden this reddish/brown
coloured animal came out of a hedge and ran right in front of us before
disappearing back into the hedge. It was the size of about a 2lb slim
ferret with a very muscular weasel like head and body but with a bushy
tail more like a squirrel. Yet it didn't look like any squirrel I have
ever seen.

I have been searching the internet but have not been able to find a
picture of anything remotely similar. Does anyone have any idea's?

India also had a lot of chipmunks which I haven't seen since I lived
in B.C. They are just as cute and cheeky as I remember.
