While my idea falls under the not-so-brilliant heading, I can say that I've
done the following:
 
1. Go to the hardware store and get one piece of plywood and four casters.
2. Cut the plywood slightly smaller than the cage.
3. Screw the casters into the plywood.
4. Put the cage on the new platform with wheels.
 
Voila - instant mobile cage. : )
