My parents had a cat when I was born - Geneive lived for many years ...

Against my Father's wishes, my Aunt gave me a puppy - cocker spaniel
cross - my Dad and Curley were not friends ... however, Curley was my
BEST friend. She was always there for me. I spend more time playing
with my dog than kids. I got the dog training books from Rival dog food
and Ken-l-ration. I taught her to sit, come, stay, etc. I used to take
her shopping with me.

The local corner store was run by an old guy with a weird accent and he
did not really welcome dogs. However ... one afternoon I was picking up
a loaf of bread and some of the local bullies thought it would be cool
to rob the store. Curley pulled the leash out of my hand and went after
the idiots. We were welcomed customers from that day on

Along with Curley and Genieve - I had parakeet - who would eat the cat's
food ... cat would let him eat the food. Bird would eat my homework
too!!

Plus a rabbit, chickens and ducks. We lived in the suburbs. The birds
were probably not legal but . . . Duck though he was a dog and would
run down the yard quacking along with the dog's barks.

My grandmother raised Bull terriers. I loved to dress those dogs up in
doll clothes.
