You asked if there were any alternatives rather than spanking ferrets.  I
have learned from experience that snapping your fingers or making a loud
noise (such as clapping your hands or knocking on a table or wall) while
saying no in a loud voice works very well.  Try it, and write back to FML
and tell me how it works.
