Actually no one has posted ANY scientific studies that show colloidal
silver to be anything except quack medicine. No one has posted any
credible sources of information supporting the use of these silver salts
as internal medicine. However many people have indeed posted numerous
refutations of the mis-statements about colloidal silver. It is not a
medicine. It is not an antibiotic. It is a poison.

The best source for the real story is the FDA. The US government considers
colloidal silver to have absolutely no beneficial effects. It comes
closest to being a topical antiseptic but it is not very good for that
either. It is in fact dangerous in that it delays proper medical
treatment. Try going to http://www.fda.gov and using their search engine
to search for colloidal silver. All you find is research showing that
the substance is not suitable for use in any animal including ferrets.
The Veterinary medicine portion of the FDA is emphatic on its
inappropriateness as a medicine.

We will gladly help anyone find out why colloidal silver is not nor has
ever been considered proper medicine. We do not tire of helping people
find out the truth.

A few shelters use it. Others such as ours would never use it. There are
also unfortunately doctors that despite their medical training recommend
non useful non treatments.

Please do not poison your ferrets. Use proper medicines and diets and they
will respond better than from using false cures.

[Moderator's note: OK, the biannual exchange between Ela and the Killians
about colloidal silver has now occurred and we can retire the topic for a
few more months ;-) BIG]
