There are several good substitutes out there for dryer tubes. If you
must have a clear tube to watch your fuzzies play in you can find them
in woodworking and industrial stores. Look for "dust collection hose".
They have clear ones that are very thick and sturdy that a ferret would
have a hard time chewing thru. They last a forever but these are VERY
pricey! The cheapest on line is from "The woodworker's Shop" theirs
aren't the nice thick ones but still double the thickness of a dryer
tube. If you don't have to have clear, Lowes and Home Depot have plastic
black irrigation tubing that is fairly cheap but kind of ugly. If you go
to the gutter dept. in these stores they also have flexible, bendy tubes
you put on the end of your downspouts to redirect the water where you
want it. They are only 8 feet long when stretched out but they cone in
green, tan and white. I've spliced a few together and made a long tunnel
with them and they work great. You can bend them into different shapes
for extra fun.
